Reno
Reno, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World," is famous for its casinos, and is the birthplace of the gaming corporation Harrah's Entertainment. City residents are called "Reno-ites." Reno borders Sparks. Most call the metropolitian area "Truckee Meadows." [1]
Sparks
Sparks is located east of Reno. It is often referred to as half of a twin city (i.e. "Reno-Sparks"). [2]
Carson City
Carson City, located about 30 miles south of Reno, is the capital of the State of Nevada. [3]
Truckee
Truckee is an incorporated town in Nevada County, California, located along Interstate 80 about 30 miles west of Reno. [4]
Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is located along the border between California and Nevada in the Sierra Nevada mountians, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both California and Nevada. Highways provide year-round access from Reno and Carson City. [5]
